A .300 (EXTRA LONG) SINGLE-SHOT SPORTING-RIFLE, MODEL 'MARTINI-ACTION', serial no. 31538,
circa 1912, with round tapering 25in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, the top of barrel marked 'MADE BY THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. LTD., ENGLAND' together with the calibre, slab-sided dropping block receiver, the left hand side with the BSA 'piled arms' trademark, walnut butt-stock (drilled at wrist for aperture sight, missing), hard-rubber heel-plate (worn) and splinter fore-end, traces of faded finish
